CORU Registered Chartered Physiotherapist

& Pilates Instructor

Sophie Mc Ardle is a Chartered Physiotherapist and APPI Pilates Instructor at BodyRight Physiotherapy & Pilates. Having recently graduated with First Class Honours in Physiotherapy from Ulster University, Sophie is passionate about helping people move better, feel stronger, and gain confidence in their bodies through personalised, evidence-based care.

Growing up playing Gaelic football sparked Sophie’s interest in physiotherapy and gave her a strong appreciation for injury prevention, rehabilitation, and the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle. She enjoys working with individuals of all ages and activity levels, supporting recovery from injury while helping patients achieve their movement and wellbeing goals.

Sophie takes a positive and supportive approach to assessment and treatment, tailoring rehabilitation programmes to each individual’s needs and lifestyle. She has experience working across a variety of musculoskeletal, rehabilitation, and community healthcare settings, helping patients improve strength, mobility, balance, function, and overall confidence in movement.

As a qualified APPI Pilates Instructor, Sophie integrates Pilates principles into rehabilitation programmes to improve strength, stability, posture, mobility, and movement control. Her Pilates-based approach supports recovery while encouraging long-term physical health, resilience, and confidence.

Sophie is known for her friendly and encouraging nature, creating a welcoming environment where patients feel supported throughout their rehabilitation journey. She is passionate about helping people return to the activities they love — whether that is sport, exercise, work, or everyday life — through movement-focused, evidence-based care.

How Physiotherapy Helps

Physiotherapy is essential in the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports injuries. Through expert assessment and targeted hands-on care, we help you:

  • Understand the root cause of your injury — not just the symptoms

  • Speed up recovery and tissue healing

  • Reduce pain, swelling, and stiffness

  • Correct faulty movement patterns

  • Improve mobility, flexibility & strength

  • Prevent re-injury through long-term resilience

  • Optimise biomechanics for better performance

Our therapists look at the overall clinical picture — because stiffness in one area often forces another area to work too hard. This is how we achieve better outcomes in both recovery and injury prevention.

Whether you need to correct running technique to reduce knee pain, improve spinal rotation for a more powerful golf swing, or rebuild stability after an ankle sprain — we’ll help you get there.
